About Nathan

Nathan Melcher is an improvisational acting instructor at the Brave New Workshop Comedy Theater in Minneapolis and has performed at a dozen improv comedy festivals in North America, most often with his solo musical improv showcase, The Uncle Ukulele Show. He holds a BA in Film Studies and an MFA in Creative Writing and spent four years teaching college English composition, literature, and creative writing.

Nathan is the Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministries at Excelsior United Methodist Church. He is a Dean of LYFE Camp, a week-long junior high camp focused on fun, friends, and faith in the Camp Minnesota ministry, is a certified ordination candidate in the United Methodist Church, and in his spare time he’s a full-time student in the M.Div program at United Theological Seminary.

Nathan plays the ukulele when he should be doing homework, writes early in the morning or late at night, does his most reading via unabridged audio books, and strives to make the sort of lifestyle changes which promote longevity and peace for his mind and soul. He and his wife, Kelly, live in Hopkins, MN.
